Working at Cornell website launches chatbot
The Working at Cornell website (hr.cornell.edu) is implementing a new chatbot on April 17, 2026.
The same chatbot has already been successfully implemented on the IT, SCL, and other university websites. The bot combines curated responses and generative AI for helpful, conversational answers.
Visitors to the website will be able to get 24/7 automated support to help find answers to common HR inquiries, while HR staff anticipate that it will reduce the volume of common questions submitted to the HR help system.
Employees should note that the chatbot is limited to the Working at Cornell website and does not have access to any individual or other information in Workday.
Users should also note that like all AI tools, 100% accuracy is not guaranteed, and complex or important concerns should be submitted to the HRSTC Help System or HR representative directly.
