Service Awards 2021

calligraphic script: Congratulations and Thank You

Congratulations on achieving a milestone anniversary in your years of service at Cornell University!

In past years, the university has hosted an elegant dinner on campus to celebrate our Service Recognition awardees. Although we are unable to gather in-person to celebrate, we want to do something special to acknowledge and thank you for your achievement.

All awardees of 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 years of service at Cornell were sent a gift card to treat themselves and a guest to a meal at one of the participating Downtown Ithaca Alliance restaurants shown below. If you have questions,  please contact  service_awards@cornell.edu.

How To Use Your Gift Card

  • Present card at time of purchase
  • Check balance by calling the number on back of card
  • If you experience any issues using your card, please contact service_awards@cornell.edu
  • Card expires June 2025

Important 2023 Update:

In working with our partners at the Downtown Ithaca Alliance (DIA), we have recently discovered complications in the application of the gift card program. Our local businesses are still recovering from the pandemic impacts and are struggling with their transition back to full operations. As a result, there has been miscommunication internally with businesses regarding participation in the program, particularly, with new restaurant staff members who are not aware of the DIA gift card program. We understand it can be frustrating and embarrassing to have the gift card rejected or  to call ahead and be told the gift card is not accepted. Please know that the Downtown Ithaca Alliance and our community outreach partners are doing everything we can to support our local businesses and this program and we appreciate everyone’s patience. We recommend calling ahead to let restaurant staff know you'll be using your Downtown Ithaca Alliance gift card when you visit.

Check out local businesses that also accept the gift card on the Downtown Ithaca Alliance webpage. Your gift card is active for four years and can be used at anytime.
