Workday Learning to launch November 11
Cornell will launch Workday Learning to replace CU Learn, the university’s current administrative learning management system (LMS), targeted to go live November 11th. Workday Learning will connect Cornell staff, students and other workers with required training and other learning opportunities directly within Workday, the university’s HR platform.
Key Features of Workday Learning:
- Ease of use via the current, familiar Workday platform.
- One location for employees and people leaders to manage learning, compliance, and career development, fully integrated with Workday’s robust HR and communications features.
- Personalized course recommendations based on employee profile and professional goals in Workday.
- Improved reporting to facilitate more efficient compliance and data points for people leaders.
- Mobile device capabilities providing more convenience for learners.
This month, the project will be conducting user acceptance testing, where sample populations of employees, student employees, managers, learning/reporting coordinators and learning partners will run through typical scenarios to ensure that the system meets their needs. Upon completion of this phase, training sessions will begin for all employees.
Answers to frequently asked questions are available on the Workday Learning for Power Users webpage. We will continue to update this page with more detailed information in the weeks ahead to support the Cornell community during this transition.
FAQs
When are we transitioning to Workday Learning?
The University will move from CU Learn to Workday Learning during the weekend of November 9th, available to employees on November 11th, updated from the originally announced September 30th go-live.
Who has access to Workday Learning?
All active employees and students have access to Workday Learning. In addition, Cornell sponsored external learners can also be granted access on a temporary basis (like the process in CU Learn).
What if I’ve started a course in CU Learn but not yet finished?
We encourage you to complete all ‘in-progress’ CU Learn courses by October 25th, otherwise they will be show-up as ‘not started’ in Workday Learning. Unfortunately, in-progress courses will not get carried over into Workday, so if not finished in CU Learn, you will need to start from the beginning in Workday Learning. FA
Where can I find my learning history?
Your learning history, including all of your CU Learn history, will be available via your learning transcript within Workday.
Where can I find my required learning in Workday Learning?
All required learning will appear in the ‘Required for You’ section on the Learning homepage. These are courses assigned to you by your manager, a course owner or your local college/unit Learning Partner.
What additional functionality do People Leaders have?
Like CU Learn, people leaders can assign learning to team members, either as required learning or not. They can also see their employees' learning progress, including registration status, attendance, grade, and completion dates.
