It's never too early to start planning for retirement.
Cornell provides many resources to help you plan – presentations, documents, and tools – each with a goal of clarifying your current benefits as well as your options in retirement. We understand that retirement is a major life transition, and our goal is to make the benefits portion of your transition easier to manage.

Phased Retirement
Eligible faculty members and staff employees may request to reduce their job duties and scheduled hours prior to retirement, to make a gradual transition before their official retirement date. This process is a mutual agreement between the faculty member or staff employee and their department, and approval is based on the department's business need.
