Service Awards Call for Photos & Video

Help us celebrate our years of service milestone recipients! We're asking colleagues across campus to share images of their Cornell memories with us to present at our annual Service Awards recognition event. 

Instructions

Use the links below to upload your photo and/or video files. Please label your files with your NetID, this will help us track the files. Please do not share the link with people outside of the current or retiree Cornell community.*

All photos and videos must be submitted by May 26, 2023.

Please submit your photos as .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .tiff.

Types of Photos

We are looking for any photos that will evoke a feeling of nostalgia. Past meetings, group photos, co-worker birthday parties, holiday gatherings.

Video

File Types

  • Please submit your videos as .mov or .mp4.

Length of video

  • Please keep videos under 5 minutes

Aesthetic Guidelines

  • Be sure to test audio and video ahead of time.
  • Reduce audio and visual distractions in your environment.
  • Utilize a 'blur' effect or  download a Cornell Virtual Background.
  • Be sure to face your light source (window, overhead light, lamp). Turn on extra lamps if necessary to increase the light on your face.
  • Keep your camera level with your eyes, if possible, elevate your laptop or phone with a stand, books or another flat, stable object.
  • If using a phone, keep your phone stable with a stand or by placing on a flat, stable object.
  • Position camera so that there is a little empty space above your head, tilt laptop or phone until you are centered in the frame.

Content Guidelines

  • Begin by introducing yourself. Your name, title/position, department, years of service at Cornell.
  • Select some, or all, of the questions provided below to answer. Or create your own content with a message to specific colleague or general celebratory remarks to milestone recipients. Repeat the questions before answering.
  • If you make a mistake, misspeak, or want to restate an answer, simply take a breath and restart. We are able to edit around any mistakes, and we will do our best to make you look good.
  • Questions: 
    • Describe a memorable event or day on campus.
    • Whatis your favorite spot on campus and why?
    • Tell me about a memorable co-worker.
    • What is your greatest achievement/what are you most proud of?
    • What was your impression of Cornell prior to working here?
    • How has Cornell changed since you started?
    • How have you changed Cornell (what was your impact)?
    • How has Cornell changed you (how have you grown)?
    • Do you have words of wisdom to upcoming generations starting their careers at Cornell or for employees that have just started at Cornell and plan to grow their careers at Cornell.
    • Any last points of reflection on your time at Cornell or shout outs?
