  • Testing frequency

Faculty and staff are able to request changes to their testing frequency via the Daily Check website.

  • Symptomatic testing

Supplemental and surveillance testing are not to be used by individuals who are ill or believe they may have been exposed. In these cases, please consult your physician and get a diagnostic test at the Cayuga Medical sampling site to rule out COVID.

  • Testing for remote employees

Supplemental testing began for faculty and staff on Monday Nov. 30

  • Testing for family members

Supplemental testing and surveillance testing are only for Cornell faculty and staff. Tests at the Cayuga Medical sampling site are available for free to Tompkins County Residents; non-residents may be charged a $99 fee.

  • Handling suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases among employees

Employees, supervisors and human resources representatives are responsible for reporting employees with confirmed COVID-19 test results or an order to quarantine or isolate, resulting from a known or suspected exposure to the virus, through appropriate channels.

  • ​Exceptions to COVID-19 Orders of Quarantine

NYS regulations permit an exception to quarantine for employees determined to be “essential”.

  • Employee travel guidelines

New York state guidelines for residents and visitors entering NYS from a noncontiguous state or country designated under a CDC level 2 or 3.

  • Non-essential business travel

Non-essential business travel is prohibited, a restriction that has been extended through at least May 15, 2021.

  • Holiday gatherings and travel

Avoid unnecessary travel and to continue to follow all public health guidance. Centers for Disease Control tips on holiday celebrations and small gatherings.
